Americans love a deli — something between a supermarket counter and a full-fledged cafe. Americans also love babkas — an indulgent pastry.
The Babka Deli Bakery is owned by a family of Berlin restauranteurs, known for their excellent food, beautiful plating and ongoing quest for new tastes. They wanted a bold look for their new cafe.
We based the interior around a delicious hue of cinnamon (PANTONE Cinnamon Stick) and circular shapes. We made the most of the modest 60 sq m space: a few bar tables for 1-2 people, a communal table for large groups, and bench space by the window for folks wanting to spend the afternoon tapping away on their laptops or chilling with a book. And our little inside joke — little coloured windows through which visitors can peek into the kitchen.
